Ohio Star blocks, in cotton patchwork, with 4-patch sashing cornerstones. Spring-summer bright acid pastel colors. I particularly enjoy the green section of the binding against the aqua striped back.

Initially I quilted the fan arcs 2” apart, and then trimmed and bound the quilt. I washed and shrank it like that, but felt it was too baggy and needed more quilting. I added a new line of stitches in between each arc I had already stitched, washed it again, and it turned out great. It always needs more quilting!

Process

Machine pieced, hand quilted, machine and hand bound.
Quilted by hand in a baptist fan motif.
Backed with a vintage muslin sheet.
